Email Campaign Process

Some of these steps may run concurrently. Entire process takes from 7 to 14 days.
- Run counts with our online counts application. Discuss your criteria and campaign ideas with your MTD Account Rep. (If you don't already have a counts login, please request one from your Account Rep. This may add additional time.)
1-2 days
- Accept or make changes to the estimate and counts. Once accepted, our Email Project Manager will contact you about the campaign requirements.

- Fill out the campaign questionnaire (campaign name, subject line, test email addresses, send date, etc.) and provide content for the email.

If MTD is designing the email, you will provide any existing text, images & links, and any special instructions.
If you are designing the email, make sure your designer consults all guidelines posted under
Email Project Resources on our website.
- If you have not already done so, update your SPF Record and Domain key with the information provided to you by MTD for your domain's DNS record. If you have done so in the last 12 months, disregard this step.
up to 72 hours
- MTD creates the email template and sends a test. You are allowed up to 3 opportunities for changes and updates. After that, you will be charged per change.
2-3 days
- Approve the email. Proof carefully! MTD is not responsible for errors once an email is approved.

- Email deploys. (Depending on list size, email throttling and Send Time Optimization may affect the amount of time to complete sending.)

- The MTD Email Project Manager provides you a link and login credentials so you may view Custom Demographic Reports.
1 day
6 days after the email deploys, the MTD Email Project Manager will provide you with a list of clickthroughs (records of people who clicked in the email and went to your website or landing page). These people are hot leads and should be contacted so you can introduce yourself and see if they have questions about your offer or need more information.
The MTD Email Project Manager will send an invoice for the broadcast and remind you to contact your Account Rep so you can go over the results of the email campaign together.
Your Sales and Account Rep will contact you about the Email Reports and Campaign Results. This helps with understanding the reports & results, and gives you the opportunity to discuss how the campaign performed and what steps to plan next.
